A man is dead after an officer-involved shooting early Tuesday morning on the near east side of Indianapolis.

The city of Indianapolis has entered into an agreement with the Department of Justice to review the recent uptick in officer-involved shootings.

One person was killed and five others injured, including an Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officer, on Sunday morning on the city’s east side.

A man was shot and killed by Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers Thursday night. The incident happened on Indianapolis’s near east side as police attempted to stop the 48-year-old man who was wanted on a firearms warrant.

The incident marks the third IMPD shooting since Oct. 19, the 10th since the beginning of August, and the 14th since the start of the year.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a shooting that injured three people, including a man who was shot by an off-duty IMPD officer, according to police.
