Q&A

What do you consider the two most important issues facing Hoosiers who will see your name on their ballot this November? And if elected, what policies will you push for to address each one?

Maintaining low costs of living for every Hoosier and seeking direct voter input via voter referendum legislation. Direct voter input is going to be sought by legislation and holding the current Republican supermajority accountable when they turn down Hoosiers rights to having a say in their state. Maintaining low costs of living to me means preventing prices hikes from the states major private utility companies, implementing the McCormick tax plan and creating a new tax via cannabis legislation.

We've heard from many in our audience that they feel frustrated — sometimes disenfranchised — by our current political landscape. These feelings sometimes contribute to people deciding not to vote, and Indiana consistently ranks near the bottom of the list on voter turnout. What would you say to a potential voter who feels this way?

As a life long Hoosier, I hear you because I’ve felt that way before too. Some of my closest family and friends still refuse to participate; and there’s a major political party that has ruled this state not only electorally but morally for far too long- Republican direct voter apathy. This is why you deserve Voter Referendum legislation. Allow every day Hoosiers to collect signatures and put the questions directly on the ballot and when it passes with a 50+1 majority- we will hold our elected officials accountable to get the voters will done! We are not just a fly over state, we are the Hoosier state and that means taking the power back to the people.

Economic anxiety is top of mind for many in our audience and around the country, with a common concern being inflation and the high price of basic needs. In all the complexity around economic issues, what specific changes need to happen to help Hoosiers and their families?

I work 11 hours a day driving a truck to feed my family of 4; I know economic pressure because I am living it just like every other Hoosier. We have to create a robust economy but it should not be at the expense of working families and working individuals bank accounts that should be derided and plundered at every nook and cranny. Pass the McCormick Tax plan, deliver the tax relief so many Hoosiers crave. Create a new sales tax by passing cannabis legislation either medicinally or recreationally so we can lower the burden on our state gas tax and income tax.
