Elkhart and St. Joseph County Planned Parenthood facilities may see an increase in patients from Northeast Indiana after the Fort Wayne office closed its doors.

The owners of the Diversified Machine factory in Bristol and the New Flyer factory in Elkhart have notified state officials of the closing plans.

The Elkhart Truth reports that the former Conn-Selmer factory could see residents moving in within days.

President Donald Trump's supporters waited outside of the Elkhart middle school venue for hours before the rally. And they got an earful of chants against the president.

The president, who was joined at the Elkhart rally by home-state Vice President Mike Pence, said Democrats would raise taxes, "destroy your jobs" and "knock the hell out of your border."

Supporters from as far away as Florida and California wait in line, decked out in Trump gear.

The campaign says Vice President Mike Pence will join Trump at the rally at Elkhart's North Side Middle School gymnasium.

The American Red Cross says it has opened eight shelters in northern Indiana, where crews used boats to help residents evacuate their homes.

The new plan, effective until the end of the school year, calls for Elkhart Schools to pay for Crossing Guards and for the city's Police Department to fund three School Resource Officers.
