U.S. Rep. Victoria Spartz (R-Ind.) says shell run for a second term when Indiana holds elections in 2022.

Republican Victoria Spartz held a press conference Thursday morning, following confirmation yesterday that she was elected to represent Indiana's 5th Congressional District.

It took more than a day to name Victoria Spartz the official winner in Indianas Fifth District.

Before midnight election night, Republican Victoria Spartz claimed victory at a speech in Carmel. Near the same time, Democratic candidate Christina Hale said the race is not over.

The two candidates vying for the open seat in Indiana's 5th Congressional district met for a virtual town hall Tuesday night.

State Sen. Victoria Spartz won the Republican nomination to replace GOP Rep. Susan Brooks in Indiana's congressional district. Former state Rep. Christina Hale of Indianapolis won the Democratic primary.

Sen. Victoria Spartz of Noblesville announced her congressional campaign on Wednesday. She joined the state Senate in 2017 when she was picked to replace longtime Sen. Luke Kenley after he retired.

Victoria Spartz will serve District 20, north of Indianapolis, through the end of the term in 2020.
