U.S. Rep. Victoria Spartz (R-Ind.) says she’ll run for a second term when Indiana holds elections in 2022.

The 5th District representative was first elected last November in a close race that took more than a day to call.

In a statement, the Ukranian native and former accountant and business owner said in her four months in Congress, she’s seen a chamber that is “badly broken” and “full of political posturing.”  She said she wants to fight for good policy solutions.

Before serving in Congress, Spartz served in the Indiana Senate after being chosen to succeed retiring Luke Kenley.

The 5th District makes up a diverse area, including most of Hamilton, Tipton, Madison and Grant counties and the northern part of Marion County.  Members of the House of Representatives are elected every two years.
