IndyGo says as of late September, ticket vending machines are unable to accept bills for cash transactions, and the user interface for administering the fare system is behind schedule.

With new bus stops in the middle of the street, brightly painted sections of pavement, restrictions on left turns, and buses driving northbound on streets that are one-way south, there's a lot of new information for Indianapolis drivers to absorb.

IMPD began strictly enforcing No Parking areas along the Red Line route Monday.

IndyGo's Red Line will open Sept. 1. Road construction will continue through July and the stations will be finalized in August.

IndyGo worked with bus maker, BYD, to find a solution for charging the electric buses that were not traveling as far as promised. Buses will be charged using wireless technology during the day to solve the issue.

IndyGo plans to finish the Red Line construction this summer. WFYI's Taylor Bennett met with spokesperson Lauren Day to ask her for updates on the project.

Red Line construction begins along Meridian Street this week, while work along Shelby Street and the first station continues.

When complete, the rapid bus line will run about 13 miles from Broad Ripple on Indianapolis' north side to the University of Indianapolis on the south side.

IndyGo continues to seek public feedback on its transit upgrade through public presentations and Q&As.

Transit Drives Indy and the Arts Council of Indianapolis have selected five artists to contribute to the art projects on the Red Line Rapid Transit project.
