Indiana Secretary of State Connie Lawson said Tuesday in a statement that her office is investigating Johnson County's problematic electronic poll books.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency told city officials that it's monitoring the site formerly used by Amphenol, an electronics manufacturer.

They face charges for dealing methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine, marijuana, or other drugs. More than 60 of those charged were arrested Thursday morning.

The Johnson County prosecutor's office says the charges are in addition to the 18 people charged in early July, bringing the total now to 45 individuals facing charges stemming from the brawl.

Some residents think contamination from the site could be responsible for rare blood and brain cancers in the area. The Environmental Protection Agency is already collecting samples in the same area.

TCE is used to degrease metal and to make other chemicals like refrigerants. It's just one of the chemicals found at the Amphenol industrial site in Franklin.

Indiana counties, cities and towns may have to alter their recycling programs in the wake of China's recent ban on certain recyclables.

Attorneys filed the class action lawsuit in 2015 on behalf of seven people facing criminal charges in Johnson County.

The suit filed on behalf of five companies, one trust and four individuals names the clerks of Hamilton, Johnson, Marion and Wayne counties.

The permanent gates will be used to close roads that frequently flood to prevent drivers from going into floodwaters.
