An Indianapolis man has been sentenced to 60 years in prison for a road rage shooting. A judge on Friday sentenced Dion Kimbrough after a jury convicted him in August.

A new study was recently launched by INDOT to begin planning for the next phase of urban interstate redevelopment.

The Indiana Department of Transportation plans to reopen Interstate 70 westbound through the North Split interchange this weekend.

Starting Sept. 12, 10th Street will be closed between College and Highland avenues. The closure is expected to last into late September. Eastbound and westbound traffic will be detoured to 16th Street during the closure.

The case is the 37th interstate shooting that troopers and detectives from the state police Indianapolis District have investigated so far in 2022.

The Indiana Department of Transportation said 10th Street will close on Monday, July 18, between Bellefontaine Street on the west and Dorman Street/Massachusetts Avenue on the east. It's expected to reopen in September.

The closure that started Saturday allows traffic on Interstates 70 and 65 to reach the city's downtown, but through traffic is blocked as crews rebuild a portion of the route the two highways share.

The Indiana Department of Transportation says the I-65/I-70 southbound lanes between the North Split and Washington Street will close Friday, May 14. The full closure of the interchange is expected Saturday, May 15.

A $22.5 million grant will be used to make improvements to Interstate 70 in Hancock County east of Indianapolis, including adding a third lane in each direction. Another $5 million grant will be used to upgrade U.S. 36 in Avon.

The incident happened around 8 a.m. Sunday on the ramp leading from Interstate 70 eastbound to Interstate 65 northbound, according to authorities.
