Michigan-based McLaren Health Care announced Thursday that it's signed a definitive agreement to acquire MDwise a nonprofit insurer serving more than 360,000 Indiana residents who are on Medicaid.

A Kaiser Family Foundation analysis released this week shows Indiana would receive 3 percent less under the block grant system than it currently does under the Affordable Care Act.

Democrat Joe Donnelly has repeatedly voted against measures Senate Republicans have offered to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act.

When pressed again, Holcomb said the Senate bill was too much of a moving target to provide specific data.

The proposal would require members to work, train, study or volunteer for up to 20 hours per week, unless they can show they meet certain exemptions.

Gov. Eric Holcomb has previously evaded any commitment to releasing internal analysis of the impact federal health care legislation will have on Indiana.

The 30-day public comment period began May 24. The state submitted its proposal to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services on May 25.

If approved, the plan requires HIP members to put in time each week working, job hunting, job training or studying-or risk having their health care suspended.

A week ago, Gov. Holcomb said he was concerned about the repeal of Obamacare's Medicaid expansion in the GOP's health-care reform bill. The expansion dollars fund Indiana's HIP 2.0 program. Holcomb said he wanted all those currently receiving coverage to continue getting it. He now says he supports the bill.
