Officials in Indianapolis announced they will be launching a plan to be more economically inclusive. The city hopes to reduce income inequality by creating more high-wage jobs.

eHealth, which runs an online health insurance exchange, says it will bring 500 high-wage jobs to the city by the end of 2023.

Mayor Joe Hogsett introduced the policy recommendations by noting that while the city has seen significant growth in the last ten years, poverty has gone up by 80%.

The governor's office says he plans to meet with government, business and academic leaders in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Switzerland, Austria, Germany and France.

The change many Hoosier cities are spending millions to make can help boost the local economy, but can also be hard on small businesses.

The governor will also meet with the Hungarian operations managers of Eli Lilly, Allison Transmission and other large Hoosier firms.

During the trip, Holcomb will meet with government officials in London as well as potential investors in Indiana's top sectors, including advanced manufacturing.

Gov. Mike Pence says 323 companies, up from 285 in 2014, pledged to create new jobs over the next few years.
