Indiana’s medical licensing board next month will hear a case involving the Indianapolis doctor who this past summer provided an abortion to a 10-year-old rape victim from neighboring Ohio.

Indiana abortion care provider Dr. Caitlin Bernard dropped her lawsuit against Attorney General Todd Rokita Thursday.

A county judge ruled Friday that Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita violated state law, breaking confidentiality in his offices investigation of Dr. Caitlin Bernard. But the judge also denied Bernards request to put a halt to Rokitas investigation.

Indiana's Republican attorney general on Wednesday asked the state medical licensing to discipline a Indianapolis doctor who has spoken publicly about providing an abortion to a 10-year-old rape victim who traveled from Ohio after its more-restrictive abortion law took effect.

Arguments continued Monday afternoon in Dr. Caitlin Bernard's lawsuit to halt Attorney General Todd Rokita's subpoenas for patient information and medical records from the doctor.

Dr. Caitlin Bernard is suing Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita over his investigation into the abortion care she provided to a 10-year-old rape victim from Ohio.

The harassment began soon after her young patient became flashpoint in the national debate over abortion, Dr. Caitlin Bernard told NPR. "It's honestly been very hard for me, for my family," she said.

Dr. Caitlin Bernard has threatened to sue Republican Attorney General Todd Rokita for "false and misleading statements" he made after she provided a medication abortion for the girl from Ohio.

Bernard became the subject of attention and public attacks after she spoke with the media about an abortion she recently provided to a 10-year-old who reported a rape in Ohio. Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita took to Fox News to accuse Bernard – without evidence – of a history of non-compliance with state law.

Attorney Kathleen DeLaney sent the "cease and desist" letter to Indiana Republican Attorney General Todd Rokita on behalf of obstetrician-gynecologist Caitlin Bernard, who performed a medical abortion on the girl.
