At its Annual Meeting late last month, WFYI elected new members to its Board of Directors and to its Foundation Board.

WFYI is proud to offer PBS KIDS programming, featuring more than a dozen impactful children’s shows, including Sesame Street. As a public media station, WFYI provides free, universally accessible programming, focused on life-long learning.

Thanks to a donation by WFYI members George and Christine Plews, WFYI has two beehives on its roof, helping to restore the local bee population. The hives sit near the station's green roof.

At the 46th Annual Emmy Awards of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Lower Great Lakes chapter, held in Indianapolis, on Saturday, June 27, WFYI Public Media received 11 Emmy Awards, including the prestigious Overall Station Excellence award for the third consecutive year.

Cokie Roberts, senior news analyst for National Public Radio (NPR), will be in Indianapolis on Thursday, July 23, to help WFYI Public Media launch a new speaker series called Listen Up.

After a 15 -year run, WFYI’s Sound Medicine weekly radio program will conclude its current format and schedule with a final program on Sunday, April 26. However, health news reporting will continue to be a focus of WFYI on-air and online.
