Jones President & CEO | LISC May 8, 2019 The Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) was created in 1979 to connect residents and local institutions with the capital, strategy and know-how to help revive their communities. Today, LISC is one of the largest organizations supporting projects that revitalize communities and bring greater economic opportunity to residents. LISC has offices in over 30 cities, including one here in Indianapolis, where it works to transform distressed communities and neighborhoods into healthy ones. Maurice Jones took the helm as LISCs fourth President & CEO in 2016. Jones is the former commerce secretary in Virginia and a former HUD official. Jones brings to the leadership role a careers worth of business, management and policy experience and a lifelong commitment to improving communities and the lives of low-income Americans.
