Many Indianapolis restaurants are preparing to open their doors as the city begins to slowly reopen. On the 800 block of Mass Ave., downtown, Ross Katz owns Rooster's Kitchen. He is one of many business owners able to get creative during shutdown -- offering groceries, and meal kits with recipes -- to keep the doors open.

Rooster's, has also been preparing meals for the Wheeler Mission. Local purveyors donate product and various corporations pay the labor for his staff to cook and deliver the food to the nonprofit, which has seen an increase in clients and decrease in volunteers.

From our Arts and Culture Desk, WFYI’s Jill Ditmire spoke by phone with Katz about those creative solutions, and what comes next.
