2024 Legislative Session Recap, Expanding Education Programs, Religious Education Requirement, Funding for Psilocybin Research

Republican leaders said before the start of session they wanted it to be a quiet one, focused on small tweaks to existing policies. A bill on its way to the governor’s desk would expand several state education programs and increase funding for some students. Schools must release students for religious education under a bill headed to the governor’s desk. Legislation headed to the governor would establish a fund for research into psilocybin and its potential as a treatment for mental health issues, substance use disorders and chronic pain.
