DPS Director Says No Immediate Recruit Class Without Elimination of Local Homestead Tax Credit
Public Safety Director Troy Riggs says the city can hire 80 more police officers, but it's dependent on a move the City County Council has rejected. If the Council eliminated the Local Homestead Tax Credit, Riggs says that would provide nine million dollars for hiring. However, a council committee voted against that action, Tuesday.
