Bill would require that several income tax exemptions be adjusted annually to adjust for inflation. The legislation would also raise the dependent child exemption from $1,500 to $2,000 per child.

Compromise On Bill To Allow Direct-To-Retail Wine Sales
House Bill 1387, authored by Rep. Mark Messmer, R-Jasper, would allow wineries to sell 5,000 gallons of wine per year to retailers. Thursday's amendment restricts those sales to the county the winery is located in, or a contiguous county.

Senate Passes Bill Allowing State Fair Alcohol Sales
The State Fair Commission said it would make $110,000 between 2015 and 2016 from the alcohol sales. Opponents of the bill said the sale of alcohol may hinder the "family-friendly environment" the State Fair is known for.
