Zak Cassel

Zak Cassel is an investigative reporter for WFYI and Side Effects Public Media, a Midwest health reporting collaboration based at WFYI, examining inequity in health, education and beyond. Zak comes most recently from a fellowship at Columbia Journalism Investigations. He has work in the Center for Public Integrity, The Intercept, Montana Free Press and The New York Times. Zak graduated from Columbia Journalism School and Wabash College. He’s based in Indianapolis.
