A new outreach center for women in need of addiction services is open in Indianapolis.

The need for addiction treatment and services has grown during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Dove Recovery House, the largest free recovery housing program in Marion County for women, will now operate an outreach center. Executive Director Wendy Noe said the goal is to reach more women.

“I wanted to be able to serve those women who were on our waitlist to really provide a bridge to residential care while they were waiting for a bed,” Noe said.

The house currently has a waitlist of 85 women.

“With the onset of COVID we have seen that waitlist continue to grow and grow, of women needing help,” Noe said.

The new center will allow women to walk in, receive assessment, basic needs and other addiction interventions. It received funding from the Lilly Endowment.
