Marion County Public Health Department announces closures ahead of winter storm

The Marion County Public Health Department will adjust operations to all offices and clinics due to an approaching winter storm.

MCPHD’s Vital Records office will close at 5 p.m. Wednesday. The MCPHD COVID-19 vaccine clinics at the Martindale-Brightwood Branch Library, the College Avenue Branch Library and at the IndyGo Julia M. Carson Transit Center will close at 2 p.m. Wednesday.

All MCPHD locations will be closed Thursday. This includes Vital Records, Bellflower Clinic, ACTION Clinic and all COVID-19 test and vaccination sites. Anyone who has a scheduled COVID-19 vaccine or testing appointment will be contacted to reschedule.

The Indiana Department of Health will close several state operated COVID-19 clinics Wednesday through Thursday, including the mobile clinic across from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

A winter storm warning is in effect for Marion County until early Friday morning. A mix of precipitation will sweep over the area Wednesday and Thursday, culminating in an estimated 6 to 12 inches of snow.
