Ten artworks created by Indianapolis-based artists can be seen on billboards throughout Central Indiana.

The High Art program is a partnership between the Arts Council of Indianapolis and Reagan Outdoor Advertising.

Arts Council Director of Artist Services Lindsey Lord said this is the ninth year for the popular program.

“We probably get 100 to 125 entries a year and we have artists every year that want to know when we are going to put out that call- they want to know is it ready? I’m so excited,” Lord said.

Artist Peggy Breidenbach was selected for her piece “Heart in Hand.”

“Saw the call and knew I had a few images I could easily imagine on a billboard. I’m sure most artists would like to see their work on a billboard,” Breidenbach said.

Artworks will be rotated to different billboard locations for a year.

People can also vote for a “People’s Choice” winner here through Feb. 13 at 11:59 p.m. The winning artist will receive $500.
