You don’t have to wait until November 5 to vote in this year’s election. Early voting continues in Marion County this week.
Over 53,000 residents have already cast their ballots by mid-week. That’s more than the total number of early voters in the county in 2022.
But early voting numbers for Marion County are slightly down from 2020. There was a spike in early voting that year due to the pandemic.
David McCullough voted Tuesday at the Indianapolis City-County Building. He said the location’s extended hours made things easy for him.
“I biked down from Broad Ripple, simply because I attend St. Luke’s Methodist Church, which is a wonderful place, but very, very busy,” McCullough said. "Many, many people went to vote there. Because the hours are more extended here and they started earlier, this was an easier process.”
Kristi Billings also voted at the City-County Building and said the process was seamless.
“It was really easy, quick, I think I got in and out in half an hour,” Billings said.
To vote early you just need to be a registered voter in Marion County and present a valid photo ID. Polls are open every day this week with varying hours. You can vote early at any early voting location. Early voting ends Monday November 4.
