IndyGo has started construction of new inductive charging stations at the Julia M. Carson Transit Center, 201 E. Washington St. The stations will charge the battery electric buses for the Purple Line, the city’s second bus rapid transit line.

Some bus bays will change during construction. Currently bays D and E are closed through early September. The following bay assignment changes are now in effect:

  • Route 10W bus – Bay K
  • Route 10E bus – Bay N
  • Route 18 bus – Bay J
  • Route 24 bus – Bay J
  • Route 28 bus – Bay B

The Purple Line will run between Indianapolis and Lawrence. IndyGo expects the 15.2-mile route to open in October.
