Indianapolis Power & Light officials announced Wednesday the company will have a new name and image.

After the 2001 acquisition of IPL by Applied Energy Service Corporation,  the company plans to complete the transformation over the next few months.

“The new name is really about identifying with the innovation and technology changes that are driving our industry and these changes are going to give us new tools to serve our customers in even better ways than before,” said Kristina Lund, president and CEO of AES Indiana.

Customers who need to contact AES Indiana can continue in the same manner.

“The phone numbers have not been changed. If you use the old website, that will direct you to the new website, AESIndiana.com and login information and everything remains the same,” Lund said.

Over the next few months, new signage and uniforms will reflect the company’s new look. The AES Indiana logo will be displayed for the first time in lights  Wednesday night on the side of the company’s headquarters on Monument Circle.
