INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Officials say roughly 907,000 people attended this year's Indiana State Fair.

The fair closed out its 17-day run Sunday at the state fairgrounds in Indianapolis. The Indiana State Fair Commission said in a news release that this year's attendance total is the fifth highest on record.

This year's fair marked "The Year of the Farmer," with a different Indiana farm operator highlighted on each day. The fair had about 12,400 exhibitors representing nearly 45,000 exhibits.

Last year's fair drew some 950,000 people. The fair's schedule was expanded by five days in 2009.
