All Indiana students age 18 and younger have access to free meals and snacks this summer, through the 2024 Summer Food Service Program.
The Summer Food Service Program is a federal nutrition program designed to fight food insecurity for low-income children. All 1,000 meal site locations are listed on the USDA Summer Meals Site Finder.
Many of the locations are at parks, churches and mobile sites, and meal times vary by day and based on area. Locations can also be found by calling the USDA National Hunger Hotline at 1-866-3-HUNGRY or 1-877-8-HAMBRE.
The program, which has served children for over 40 years, is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and administered by the Indiana Department of Education.
Hoosier families are able to access the meals even if they are participating in the new SUN Bucks program that provides $120 vouchers for food.
