DPW will hold a hiring event this week to recruit new employees Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Burrello Family Center at Garfield Park.

There is a high demand for CDL licensed drivers and second shift positions.

Spokesperson Imani Keith said the department offers competitive wages and benefits.

“All positions are starting at $21 an hour. There are also a lot of generous benefits and paid time off, as well as health and life insurance options,” Keith said.

New employees can expect to start work in July.
