Construction Delays, COVID-19 Upset Indianapolis Shakespeare Company Production

The Indianapolis Shakespeare Company hoped to stage its July production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at its new outdoor amphitheater -- in Riverside Park.

A construction delay pushed that opening into 2021, so Indy Shakes decided to perform this year’s show on the same temporary stage it used last summer. But that was before the public health crisis.

WFYI’s Jill Ditmire spoke on the phone with the Executive Artistic Director of the Indianapolis Shakespeare Company Diane Timmerman about what it’s like playing the performance “waiting game.”
