GREENWOOD, Ind. — Southbound Interstate 65 lanes will be routed to the northbound side of the roadway via a median crossover at mile marker 100.0 during overnight hours Friday.

The shift will put northbound and southbound I-65 lanes on the east half of the bridge over Main Street and leave the west half of the structure clear for demolition and reconstruction.

Southbound I-65 lanes will switch back to the southbound side at a median crossover at mile marker 98.8, south of the bridge.

Beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, the two left southbound lanes of I-65 approaching the Main Street bridge will close to traffic to provide safe space for crews to relocate concrete barrier walls and perform other tasks prior to switching traffic to the northbound side.  One right lane of southbound I-65 will remain open.

Additional changes in the I-65 traffic pattern will occur next Tuesday night between mile markers 96.7 and 98.4.

Meanwhile, Indiana Department of Transportation officials plan to delay closure of C.R. 350 until Monday, June 13.
