What does your work at WFYi usually entail?
As the City Government reporter, every morning I dig into the news in Indianapolis to understand what issues large and small are impacting people that day. During that work I talk to a lot of people. Policy makers, leaders, nonprofits and community members to tell their stories on-air and online.
Do you have any advice for those who'd like to follow in your footsteps?
The path to journalism may start unexpectedly as it did for me. When I got into radio I quickly found a passion for local news. If you discover that passion, develop it. It's more important than ever.
What do you enjoy most about working at WFYI?
WFYI has afforded me the trust to blossom as a journalist. Over the past decade, I've been able to see the newsroom grow into a thriving hive of amazing journalists with a passion for storytelling and the impact it has. That has been awesome.
When you're not at work, what can you often be found doing?
