As a member of WFYI, you power the stories you love and rely on; but someone has to produce, distribute, fundraise for and promote those stories. Each month here in the Insiders' Magazine, you'll see a series introducing you to the team here at WFYI. Learn about journalists, radio producers, administrative specialists and all the dedicated individuals who — alongside your support — bring you the shows you care about.
What does your work at WFYI usually entail?
My primary role is to plan, facilitate and market WFYI's engagement event series WFYI Live. I also assist with social media, website and email marketing efforts for the organization.
What do you enjoy most about working at WFYI?
I love making connections with the community and meeting our members, listeners and viewers. It feels wonderful to get to hear firsthand how important WFYI’s programming is to folks. Plus, WFYI has the most welcoming, warm and fun staff!
When you're not at work, what can you often be found doing?
In my free time I like to have adventures with my wife and our four-year-old daughter at Indy Parks, the Indianapolis Zoo, Indianapolis Children’s Museum and more! I also can be found at concerts or playing roller derby with Circle City Roller Derby and Team Indiana Roller Derby.
What program on WFYI are you interested in watching/listening to next?
I’ve recently gotten into the Life Kit podcast and can't get enough; it helps me feel like I can adult even though I don’t always feel like an adult. I also love to watch new episodes of Across Indiana and am excited for the new batch of Simple Civics!
