In this sponsor spotlight, we spoke with Carl and Barbara Schafer, owners of Gordy Fine Art & Framing in Muncie, IN.
What role does your company play in the community?
Gordy is a family-owned business and gathering spot supporting regional art and artists since 1989. The Gordy team provides quality framing, appraisals, high-level photo printing services and monthly art exhibits. We help individuals, businesses and museums to frame family treasures and artworks in a way that both protects and showcases their objects.
Why does your organization support WFYI?
We support WFYI because those who use our business expect quality craftsmanship and appreciate our museum and arts background. We know those who enjoy WFYI programming are also lifelong learners who value knowledge and experience.
Which is your favorite WFYI program, and why?
We consider ourselves lifelong learners and love all the information that continuously flows through WFYI and public media from statewide news to Fresh Air to the American Experience. We also love that WFYI can transport you to different time periods and places with Masterpiece Theatre. We enjoy WFYI in all forms whether that be a podcast, on the radio, or on TV. We couldn't agree on one program to recommend. WFYI's schedule is so filled with quality programming — we love so many. No matter your mood, WFYI has a program.
