Newfields released a statement Tuesday in the wake of the departure of former president and CEO Colette Pierce Burnette. The statement also underlined efforts to “recruit and retain diverse talent” at Newfields and said the organization would work to earn the community’s trust. State officials say Indiana’s lack of access to obstetrics care is growing, which is driving the state’s high infant and maternal mortality rates. West Lafayette lawmakers say they are optimistic about the possibility of passing water legislation during the state’s upcoming legislative session. Tuesday was Organization Day at the Statehouse, the ceremonial start to the legislative session. Israel’s ongoing war in Gaza doesn’t just spread death by conflict; it can also kill by allowing diseases to spread.
