The National Barn Dance Tribute Show
"The National Barn Dance Tribute Show" is a modernday re-creation of the original "WLS National Barn Dance;" one of the country's most popular – and longest running – radio programs.
This tribute, recorded at the 2011 Indiana State Fair, celebrates the Golden Age of live Country & Western Radio Broadcasting with local musicians portraying the actual music legends who performed each week, from 1924 to 1960 before a live audience at Chicago's famous Eighth Street Theater.
"The National Barn Dance Tribute Show" is authentic: in addition to music, the program features humorous homegrown radio commercials, just like those in the original broadcasts. The days of live country radio broadcasts may be fading away into memory, but thanks to the cast and crew of "The National Barn Dance Tribute Show," this proud tradition lives on.
