Everlasting Love - Ania's Song: The Story and the Ballet
June 16, 2020
Ania Beczkiewicz was no ordinary woman - and her husband Thomas wanted to share her story with the world. Thomas originally commissioned composer James Aikman to create a string quartet to celebrate Ania's 60th birthday. That work was reimagined as a ballet in 2020 - two years after Thomas lost Ania. The ballet, choreographed by Victoria Lyras for Indianapolis Ballet, captures the couple's eternal love. Captured in video by WFYI Public Media, this video presents both the back story of Thomas and Ania, and the ballet performance inspired by their love story. Music performed by the Abel Quartet. Featured dancers are Yoshiko Kamikusa, Chris Lingner, Jessica Miller and Shea Johnson
