Indigenous Peoples’ Day
October 12, 2021
October 11 was Indigenous Peoples’ Day, a day to celebrate the history, culture, and impact of Native American people. It’s recognized by a handful of cities in Indiana, and last week President Biden became the first president to commemorate the day.
Today we spend the hour speaking with members of the Native American community in Indiana. We’ll learn about the history and culture of one tribe in the state, and talk about the unique issues Native people face today.
Produced by Micah Yason.
