The Root Causes of Violent Crime
January 12, 2021
Indianapolis recorded its worst yearly homicide rate ever in 2020, with 245 homicides. Violent crime is one of many ways the pandemic disproportionately impacts low income and Black residents in Indiana.
Today we talk to a live panel of researchers and community leaders about how social disadvantages around housing, food security and mental health compounds issues like violent crime. We also learn about the work local organizations are doing to address these issues.
