Conversation surrounding forming a union at the Indiana Avenue Starbucks location have been going on for nearly two years, that's according to one of the store's barista's Sophie Lee.

Indiana now has a third union Starbucks location. 14 employees at a store in Bloomington unanimously voted to unionize Wednesday.

Indiana has a union Starbucks in the south, a second in the north and could soon have a third in the middle. Employees at a Starbucks in Bloomington filed to unionize Monday to get better compensation and protect the culture of authenticity and inclusion for LGBTQ+ workers.

Workers at a northern Indiana Starbucks store plan to vote to unionize, according to an announcement Tuesday. If successful, the Valparaiso store will become the second union location in Indiana.

National Labor Relations Board Seattle regional office officials allege the company withheld benefits from the Clarksville store and 261 other locations that had voted to unionize or were considering it across the country.
