Businessman Jefferson Shreve claimed victory in the race for Indiana’s 6th Congressional District, a year after he lost his bid for Indianapolis mayor.

The Republican businessman joins at least four other GOP candidates vying for the seat currently held by Greg Pence.

A former mayoral candidate has donated funds to help improve animal care in Indianapolis. The gift comes from Jefferson Shreve, who vowed to give his mayoral salary to the effort if elected.
