Sarah Neal-Estes is the news director at WFYI, where she leads journalists and editors to deliver community engagement-based journalism locally, statewide, regionally and nationally. Before coming to WFYI she was the Statewide Managing Editor for Indiana Public Broadcasting, where she established the statewide team shared by all nine public media newsrooms in Indiana. She also taught journalism at Indiana University, 2007-2015, where she created two audio journalism courses.
Sarah began her professional journalism career at KUAC in Fairbanks, Alaska, and earned a bachelor's degree in English from the University of California, Berkeley, and a master's degree at the UCB Graduate School of Journalism.
