Fort Wayne’s minor league baseball team is taking the alternate jersey to another level.
The TinCaps, single-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres, will wear uniforms featuring the latest pattern from Vera Bradley, the Fort Wayne company better known for its colorful, quilted handbags and accessories.
The jerseys will be black with sleeves and lettering in Vera Bradley’s Ziggy Zinnia pattern, which is new for the company’s Fall 2014 line.
The TinCaps will wear the colorful floral print when they host the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers at Parkview Field Sunday, July 27 at 1:05 p.m. Fans at the game will be able to register to win one of the one-of-a-kind jerseys.
According to the team’s website, the TinCaps have worn a number of unique jerseys over the years, including Prom Night tuxedo jerseys and Social Media Night jerseys with the Twitter handles of more than 11,000 @TinCaps followers.
It will be the first time the team has worn a Vera Bradley pattern, but the two organizations have partnered each year of the team’s existence to raise money for the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer.
