Two people were shot on the city’s near east side Monday morning, including an 11-year-old boy.

Officers responded to a residence in the 900 block of North Beville Avenue just before 6:30 a.m. and found the 11-year-old and an adult female with gunshot injuries, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

Police said they believe the shots came from outside the home while the victims were inside. Both are in stable condition and their injuries are not considered life-threatening. The incident is under investigation.
