Taylor University announced it has severed ties with writing professor Dennis Hensley after allegations of “significant and credible allegations of serious misconduct,” according to a statement Thursday.

The university says that while the current allegations did not involve Taylor students or employees, it suspended Hensley while conducting its own investigation. According to the university, Hensley offered his “unsolicited and unconditional resignation” from Taylor that same day.

This is not the first time Hensley has faced discipline from Taylor University. In 2004, while working at Taylor’s Fort Wayne campus, a student filed a complaint against Hensley. Despite conflicting reports, he was “disciplined and cautioned.” In the 14 years since, Taylor reports two additional allegations of misconduct, for which he was “disciplined.”

The full statement can be found on Taylor's website. This story will be updated.
