SoBro staple closes after 12 years, preps for transition

Gallery Pastry Shop has been a South Broad Ripple staple since 2012, serving a variety of Instagram-worthy dishes. The company grew over the years, eventually serving confections, breakfast, lunch, dinner and alcoholic beverages.

In 2019, Gallery Pastry opened two new locations, one on 16th Street and the other on South Pennsylvania Street across from Gainbridge Fieldhouse. In March 2023, the original store moved to its present location on College Avenue.

Gallery Pasty Shop owner Alison Keefer said their final remaining location at College Avenue and 46th Street is closing its doors for good, citing a combination of personal life changes and broader economic struggles.

Gallery Pastry will live on, however, as a catering business. Keefer said she wants to preserve the spirit of the brand through that transition.

"I think that gallery pastry is such a strong brand that there's, you know, there's something there for the long term," she said. "It's just evolving it a bit."

Keefer’s catering service is anticipated to begin operations in February.

The restaurant closes for the last time at 4 p.m. Sunday. Available reservations are extremely limited — and Keefer says walk-ins are welcome, but warned they'll likely come with long waits.
