Visitors to the Indianapolis International Airport may see a special piece of art this month.

The snowplow art exhibit was designed by students from McClelland Elementary School in Wayne Township.

Art teacher Karla Allison says the theme of her students’ project is about saving the ocean from trash and plastic.

“We’ve been learning about the environment and the plastic pollution that we have, and really just impress upon my students that it’s really, really important to recycle and reuse,” Allison says.

The 18-foot decorated snowplow will be on display through Dec. 19 — unless the weather hits and the snowplow is called into action to keep the runways and roads clear of snow.
