Shonna Majors will hire and oversee local activists called Indy Peacemakers, and distribute grant money to organizations that promote violence reduction programming.

Last month Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett announced the city’s first Director of Community Violence Reduction, along with a grant program to fund local anti-crime efforts.

WFYI’s Drew Daudelin sat down with Shonna Majors to talk about her new role.
