Several Indiana State Park Properties To Host Fireworks Shows

The public wil be able to see fireworks at seven Indiana State Park properties between June 29 and July 3.

With July 4 on a Tuesday this year, properties are hosting their fireworks shows before the holiday. Fireworks shows start at dusk unless otherwise stated. The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is reminding visitors that personal fireworks are prohibited at Indiana State Parks.

Properties hosting fireworks shows are:

  • Clifty Falls State Park: Watch Madison’s fireworks from the overlook at Clifty Inn on Saturday, July 1. Activities start at 7 p.m. Food will be available for purchase.
     
  • Indiana Dunes State Park: The Duneland Chamber of Commerce will host the eighth annual Fireworks on the Lakefront on Thursday, June 29. The public can watch from the state park. Food vendors will begin selling at 6 p.m., and the fireworks show will begin at 9:15 p.m.
     
  • Monroe Lake: Fourwinds Resort and Marina at Fairfax State Recreation Area on Monroe Lake will have its annual fireworks show on Monday, July 3.
     
  • Patoka Lake: The 11th annual Thunder over Patoka show will take place on Saturday, July 1, at the Patoka Lake beach in Newton-Stewart State Recreation Area. Tune in to WITZ-FM 104.7 for music that corresponds with the fireworks.
     
  • Pokagon State Park: The annual Lake James Association fireworks show will be held on Saturday, July 1, at 10 p.m. Fireworks will launch from barges in the lake’s Lower Basin. They will be viewable from Pokagon State Park’s Potawatomi Inn beach lawn. A park shuttle will transport people between the inn and parking lots throughout the park. Limited parking for people with special needs is available near the inn. 
     
  • Raccoon State Recreation Area: The annual Beach Bash and Fireworks Display will take place on Saturday, July 1. Crafts, games and other activities start at 10 a.m. and run throughout the day. The fireworks are sponsored by Raccoon SRA, the Bellmore Volunteer Fire Department and the Raccoon Lake/Union Township Property Owners Association.
     
  • Versailles State Park: The annual fireworks event is Saturday, July 1, at Versailles Lake.
