School Choice Week In Indiana

Numerous Hoosier organizations will participate in National School Choice Week, a period dedicated to expanding educational opportunities.

All this week, independently-planned events are being held in Indiana in support of awareness campaign.   Rallies, roundtable discussions, school fairs and informational sessions are planned to empower families with information about the best school choice for them.

Andrew Campanella, president of National School Choice Week says more Hoosiers than ever are taking part.

"There are 165 events in Indiana," Campanella says.

Discussions will focus on school choice legislation, obstacles and how families can best explore their options. Campanella says people need to be proactive about finding a school.

"Make a list of the atributes you want to see in a school," says Campanella.

National School Choice Week began in 2011 as a grassroots effort with 150 events, this year over 5,500 events are planned nationwide.
