Riley Children’s Health appointed David Biggerstaff as its new president. He will start in the role in February 2025, according to a press release.
Biggerstaff has around 30 years of experience in health care administration. He previously held leadership roles at Children’s Hospital Colorado in Aurora and Children’s Medical Center of Dallas in Texas. Currently, he’s the chief operating officer at Intermountain Health’s Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver.
Riley Children's is the largest pediatric system with over 50 locations across the state.
“As Indiana’s first and only comprehensive pediatric health system, David’s experience and expertise are crucial to our continued service to children and families across the state,” said Dr. Ryan Nagy, interim president of Riley Children’s Health and president of IU Health Methodist and University hospitals.
“His commitment to patient care and drive for excellence is exactly what we need to help to move forward our vision of making Indiana a healthier state.”
Biggerstaff has degrees from Trinity University and Oklahoma State University.
"I am humbled to join an organization that has had such profound impact on the health of Hoosier children for more than a century,” said Biggerstaff. “Riley is the role model for pediatric healthcare in Indiana, and I am eager to contribute to this rich legacy."
Briggerstaff and his wife will be moving to Indianapolis in the next 90 days, while their twin sons finish college.
