Pets For The Holidays: Muncie Shelter Cuts Adoption Cost

An Indiana animal shelter is cutting the cost of adoption to try to find homes for hundreds of dogs and cats during the holidays.

Muncie Animal Care and Services is calling it the "Twelve Strays of Christmas" adoption event Saturday. Dogs will cost $5 while cats and kittens will cost just a buck. The Star Press in Muncie says the shelter has more than 425 animals.

All animals have been spayed or neutered and are up to date with basic vaccinations. Anyone looking for a cat should bring a cat carrier. Want a dog? Bring a leash.

The first 50 people who adopt a pet will also get a 10-inch, two-topping pizza for free.
